At Universal Fire And Security Ltd we never stop appreciating the area we live in. We were recently instructed to provide coverage for an 18th Century property consisting of a Fire Alarm System, Emergency Lighting and Fire Extinguishers.
Located on the Rame Peninsula, South Cornwall, Maker Heights is a designated place of outstanding heritage significance. The site is a former military base which played an important role in the defence of Plymouth from the late 18th century. The site contains four grade II listed buildings. The Main Barrack Block (pictured) has a CTEC XFP Addressable Fire Alarm System throughout the premises.
It is important when taking on a project like this that the installation is completed so that it is as aesthetically sympathetic to the building as possible. Universal Fire And Security Ltd were chosen to carry out this work as they had a proven track record of working with similar properties for English Heritage and The Churches Conservation Trust.
As the site is remote a connection was added to the Alarm Receiving Centre to alert keyholders to Fire Alarm and Fault activations. We would strongly recommend a visit to the site as there is a café and some lovely walks.
