HD ColorVu Camera Installation Plymouth

Universal Fire And Security Ltd has been associated with Chaddlewood Primary School for many years. When the decision was made to upgrade their dated Closed Circuit Television System which was installed many years ago by an alternative supplier, they looked no further than ourselves.

On inspection of the system there was a number of external analogue cameras that were giving a poor pictures back into Reception. Through discussions we ascertained that the cameras, even in their heyday, gave poor pictures at night. The lighting around the building is poor as it has many neighbouring properties and the School had been concerned over the years about light pollution.

The pictures were needed at night though as they have had a number of incidents where good pictures would have assisted them. The cabling infrastructure was existing, wired in good quality RG59 coaxial cable. It was decided to use the latest ColourVu 5MP cameras from Hikvision. These would give quality colour pictures even in the dead of night.

Not wishing to compromise the security of the site we have included a picture of a similar camera sited outside our own property on a winters evening with no external lighting on.

When a cctv system is installed a considerable amount of the investment is in the infrastructure run around the building. Even after 15 years of being installed, the copper cable in the premises provides an ideal medium for the transmission of High Quality 5MP cameras. Only a few years ago to achieve this level of quality in a camera there would have been the need to discard the existing cabling and install new.
